An Experimental Study of Cadmium Ion Exchangeability*

چکیده

Abstraet--A laboratory study of cadmium exchangeability revealed large differences in extractable cadmium which are dependent on the exchange solution being utilized. The standard exchange solutions employed in this study were: N NaNO3, N NaOAc, N NH4OAc, NCaCI~, and 2N CaCI2, in order of increasing Cd removal. An interpretation of the chemical behavior of Cd and an experiment with mixed sodium nitrate and acetate solutions suggest that cadmium carbonate, octavite, was precipitated when the sediments were saturated with Cd prior to the exchange experiments and that the quantities of Cd recovered in the acetate solutions were erroneously high because of the dissolution of the carbonate material. Dissolution of solid phases, the lack of pH buffering, and the possible formation of a complex hydroxyl chloride salt also made the Cd values obtained with the chloride solutions too high. Sodium nitrate exchange solutions minimize these problems and are thought to best represent the exchangeable cadmium in the sediment. Key Words---Adsorption, Cadmium, Exchange, Ion, Sedimentary.

اثرات متقابل کادمیوم و pH محیط بر جذب روده‌ای اسیدهای چرب در رت

Background: The intestinal absorption of fatty acids may take place through simple diffusion as well as through protein carrier mediated transport, although the relative importance of each pathway is dependent on the ambient condition of entrocytes. Cad-mium ion influences the absorption of fatty acids in entrocytes. However, the effect of cadmium ion on the absorption of fatty acids in differe...

The Thermodynamic and Kinetics Study of Removal of Cd(II) by Nanoparticles of Cobalt Oxide in Aqueous Solution

Cadmium is an extremely toxic metal, which even in low levels is harmful to the human body, animals and also plants. Human manufactures such as cadmium-nickel batteries and pesticides, plastic, make the earth polluted with cadmium; therefore removal of the cadmium Water is vital for human and animal. Scientists use different methods for cadmium removal including adsorption, precipitation, i...

Preparation of Nanocomposite Heteropoly Metalate Based Graphene Oxide: Insight into Cadmium Adsorption

We developed a facile strategy for preparation of heteropoly metalate/graphene oxide nanocomposite as a new ion exchanger for cadmium ion removal from aqueous solution. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Our findings indicated that the combination of heteropoly metalate nanoparticles ...

Comparison of biosorption of cadmium ions from aqueous solutions by the lichens Acarospora strigata, Lecanora muralis and Caloplaca aurantia

Introduction: Biosorption of heavy metals can be an effective process for the removal of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions. Also, living lichens are known to accumulate metals across their surface. Materials and methods: In this study, the biosorption of cadmium ions Cd (II) by the lichens Acarospora strigata, Lecanora muralis and Caloplaca aurantia was investigated in aqueous solution i...

Background: Evaluation on the toxicity of two mainly contaminant heavy metals, cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) through the food chain was the aim of this study. Methods: A total number of 270 healthy common carp (4±1.14 g) in April, 2015 transported to the Khatam Alanbia University of Technology, Behbahan, Iran. Fishes were divided into three groups and transferred to the 20 L aquaria each...
